The Georgian-Czech business forum was held in Batumi. Investment and tourism opportunities of Adjara and current and planned projects were discussed at the forum. The participants also focused on the main parameters of the region's economy.
As the parties stated, the forum provides an opportunity to deepen relations and launch new initiatives.
The forum was opened by the Chairman of the Government of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze. The Investment Forum was attended by the President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Miloš Vystrčil, who is paying an official visit to Georgia.
He said that the common task of these two countries is to protect democracy and freedom. According to him, Georgia will soon become a member of the European Union.
The business forum is being held for the second time. It was attended by the officials from the logistics, construction, energy, tourism and medical sectors.
"The Czech Republic has been Georgia's partner for many years. We have implemented a number of important projects based on this partnership. This is clearly seen both at the political level and in terms of economic cooperation. Numerous successful projects have been implemented in our country. I am very glad that the Czech interests and businesses are operating in our region. I am confident that the current platform will enable the private sector, business representatives, to consider the new opportunities for cooperation, as well as deepen the existing cooperation. Particularly important will be the Czech Republic's support for the Associated Trio, which includes three countries: Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia. Therefore, in the hope of this support, we will definitely continue the reforms that will ensure the democratic development of the country, as well as economic development and prosperity for our citizens.
In the given period, a special priority is the rapid recovery of the economy, attracting investment and restoring tourism for the government of Adjara," - said Rizhvadze.
