
Georgian Culture Day was celebrated in Basel, Switzerland, in an event organized by the Embassy of Georgia with support from the Georgian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture.
The Ambassador of Georgia to Switzerland, Shota Getsadze, and Tinatin Berdzenishvili, Director General of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) First Channel, welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy and international cooperation.
A special highlight of the evening was the performance by Mariam Shengelia, Georgia’s representative for Eurovision 2025, who took the stage in the host city of the upcoming contest. During the event, it was officially announced that Georgia will host Junior Eurovision 2025.
Following performances by Mariam Shengelia and Andria Putkaradze, the renowned Georgian ensemble Erisioni captivated the audience with a vibrant display of traditional music and dance. Attendees were then treated to a tasting of authentic Georgian wine and cuisine.
The celebration drew a diverse audience, including representatives of international and local media, European Broadcasting Union officials, heads of national delegations, and members of the Georgian diaspora in Basel.
