Georgian consulate opens in Portoroz, Slovenia

An honorary consulate of Georgia opened in the coastal Slovenian city of Portoroz on October 14, during the visit of Georgian Foreign Minister, Davit Zalkaliani, to Slovenia.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on January 18, 1993.
The Georgian eEmbassy was opened in the Republic of Slovenia in 2011, while the Georgian ambassador to the country was appointed in 2014.
Foreign Minister Zalkaliani has congratulated Honorary Consul Andrej Malgai on his appointment and emphasized the importance of the event.
