
Twelve members of the Law Enforcement Tactical Group from the Coast Guard Department of Georgia’s Border Police, operating under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, have been deployed to participate in NATO’s maritime security initiative, Operation SEA GUARDIAN.
The team was seen off at Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport by Davit Tamazashvili, Chief of the Border Police, who wished them success and highlighted that this marks Georgia’s third deployment as an operational partner in the NATO-led mission, conducted under the auspices of the North Atlantic Alliance.
Several high-ranking officials also attended the farewell, including Giorgi Gureshidze, First Deputy Head of the Border Police; David Bitskinashvili, Deputy Head of the NATO-Georgia Essential Package Core Group; Colonel Georgi Pelesteanu; Tamila Teliashvili, Manager of the NATO-Georgia Essential Package Program Funds; Iuri Pirtskhalaishvili, Head of the Coast Guard Department; Ramaz Papidze, Head of the International Relations Division; and Vladimer Bunturidze, Head of the Administration. They all extended their best wishes for a successful mission.
