In the semifinals of the Paris Olympics, Georgian boxer Lasha Guruli (63.5 kg) faced Cuban Erislandy Alvarez Borges. Guruli was defeated by a unanimous decision from the judges but concluded his Olympic performance with a bronze medal.

Lasha Guruli’s performance secured the fourth medal for the Georgian delegation at the Paris Olympics.

Notably, in judo, Lasha Bekauri became an Olympic champion, while Tato Grigalashvili and Ilia Sulamanidze each won silver medals.
