The Georgian Blueberry manufacturing company Agritouch expects to harvest 150 tons of blueberries this year. It is noteworthy that the company sells the product entirely in export markets and, also, in 2022 participated in the FRUIT LOGISTICA exhibition in Berlin, where it established new contacts to expand export destinations.
As Agritouch General Manager Davit Makashvili told bm.ge, “there is demand from Qatar, Dubai and other Arab countries, and the final decision on the product price, volume and demand will be made after the start of the season.
"Apart from the Arab countries, there is a demand from Japan and Israel. We are in the process of negotiations now. The Eastern market is desirable, but the EU is more profitable and we are eager to enter here; Qatar is also profitable. We will make more final predictions after the start of the season. We expect 150 tons of blueberries from our gardens this year. The total volume of blueberry harvest in Georgia will probably reach 2000 tons.
As for the prices, if the Russian market is closed, the price will go down. Otherwise, it will remain the same and at the beginning of the season - a kilogram of blueberries will cost $ 7, then - $ 5 and at the end of the season - $ 3,"- the representative of Agritouch said.
Agritouch owns a 50-hectare blueberry garden in Guria. The company's first harvest in 2021 was 50 tons of blueberries, and its full crop will reach 300 tons. It should be noted that Agritouh exported its products to Qatar, Bahrain, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Dubai.
