
First Deputy Minister of Defense of Georgia, Paata Patiashvili, held a meeting with Hungarian Deputy Minister of Defense, Tamás Varga, during the latter’s visit to Georgia for the Georgia-Hungary Business Forum.
Patiashvili expressed gratitude for Hungary’s continued support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, highlighting the significance of Hungary’s firm backing of Georgia’s European integration efforts.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the meeting focused on regional security challenges, as well as the ongoing positive trajectory of bilateral defense cooperation. The two officials also explored opportunities to deepen future collaboration.
Patiashvili provided an overview of progress made under the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package, emphasizing how the initiative is enhancing Georgia’s defense capabilities.
