During an official visit to Belgrade, Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili visited the Belgrade Exhibition Centre and attended a presentation of the upcoming Expo 2027 international exhibition.
Expo 2027 will take place from April 15 to August 15, 2027, marking the first time the Western Balkans hosts an international exhibition of this scale. The event’s theme is “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All.”
Georgia will participate in Expo 2027, presenting its achievements in culture and sports to a global audience. Kvrivishvili said the exhibition will help raise Georgia’s profile in Serbia and across the Balkans, with organisers expecting more than 4 million visitors over 93 days.
She also noted that direct flights between Georgia and Belgrade have strengthened tourism ties and that many Expo visitors will learn about Georgia’s culture and historical heritage. Expo 2027 will be held under the auspices of the International Bureau of Exhibitions, with more than 120 countries expected to participate.
