Georgia will submit the second part of the EU Accession Questionnaire to the European Commission on May 10.
The Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili announced following the sitting of the European Integration governmental commission that state institutions spare no effort to fill in the extensive technical-sectoral part of the document in due time.
“We put a lot of effort into preparing the second part of the questionnaire, which is more technical and sectoral. I take this opportunity to thank all the state agencies and sub-departments that engaged in this highly significant process,” Darchiashvili said.
Darchiashvili stressed that all the reforms Georgia had implemented and would continue to implement in the future give Georgia hope of successfully completing the procedure.
To be reminded, on May 2, the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili submitted the first completed part of the EU questionnaire to the EU Ambassador Carl Hartzell.
After accepting the completed questionnaire, the European Commission will prepare its assessment and refer it to the Council of the European Union afterward, which likely makes a relevant decision in late June.
