
A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the National Wine Agency of Georgia and the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology. The memorandum was signed by the Chairman of the National Wine Agency, Levan Mekhuzla, and the Director General of the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology, Gabit Mukhambetov.
The cooperation is aimed at sharing the Georgian experience with the Kazakh side in the field of reforms and achievements in terms of viticulture and winemaking.
Experience of the National Wine Agency in the field of wine certification, including the issuance of the EU certificates, are a subject of special interest for the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology. Within the framework of the memorandum, the experts’ visits, consultations, workshops and training meetings are planned, where specific topical issues will be discussed.
To be informed, Kazakhstan is included in the list of the top five Georgian wine exports. In 2021, more than 4 million bottles were exported to Kazakhstan from Georgia; The export growth rate, compared to 2022, was 47%.
