Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced plans to create two major university centers in Tbilisi and Kutaisi as part of Georgia’s new education reform. The initiative aims to reduce the overconcentration of higher education in the capital by transforming Kutaisi into a major academic city. Both hubs will offer a full range of university programs. The reform also includes strengthening regional universities in cities like Batumi, Zugdidi, and Telavi, with a focus on agriculture and pedagogy, alongside continued development in arts, sports, and theology education in Tbilisi.
