Georgia’s Foreign Minister, Maka Botchorishvili, emphasized the country’s appreciation for its long-standing friendly relations with the Vatican.

Botchorishvili noted that the Holy See plays a key role internationally, particularly in peace-building efforts.

“The relations between Georgia and the Vatican are very important to us. With a new Pope leading the Catholic Church, it is crucial that he meets with Georgia’s Prime Minister to discuss issues affecting our country amid global and regional developments. The Vatican’s influence is vital in promoting peace, especially given ongoing processes in the region,” Botchorishvili said.
