
Turkey became Georgia's top trading partner in 2022. The trade turnover between the countries has increased to almost 3 billion US dollars, and more precisely, last year the volume of export and import amounted to 2 billion 806 million US dollars. This indicator is 30% higher than the figures of 2021 and is 14.7% of the total turnover.
Georgia’s exports account for only 15.5% of trade turnover with Turkey, and it ranks fifth among the top trading partner by exports. According to official statistics, in 2022, goods worth $435 million 485 thousand were exported from Georgia to Turkey, which is 34.9% more than the export of 2021. Last year, Turkey took fourth place in the ranking of exporting countries, followed by this year Armenia in terms of export volume.
The main export goods were electricity, T-shirts, warm coats and other knitted goods, as well as ferroalloys.
