"As part of the ongoing preparations for the 2023 World Cup, the artificial snowing system was a major infrastructure project for us. However, it is first and foremost important for the full functioning of the resort - to increase the length of the season and obviously, it is one of the main infrastructural tools for the successful conduct of the World Cup,"- the Deputy Minister added.
The second phase of the artificial snowing system was installed in 2020 in Didveli ski area. The 2021 European and World Cup stages in ski cross [a type of skiing competition] were held on this track, which was positively evaluated by the International Ski Federation. As for the first phase of the snowing system, it was implemented in 2014-2015.
