“This year, Georgia has received twice as much income from the export of blueberries,” – the Galt & Taggart study said.
"The export of blueberries from Georgia started in 2019 and doubled every year both in terms of quantity and amount.
According to the data of the 7th month of 2023, the export of blueberries amounted to 18.2 million USD and 3.0 million kg, which is 2.1 times higher than the figures of the previous year. Depending on the harvest season, the export months in 2023 were also June and July. The average export price in June was 6.3 USD per kg, and 5.5 USD per kg in July. The mentioned monthly decrease stems from global trends.
Most of the blueberries (91.7% of the total value) were exported to Russia in the 7th month of 2023, out of the remaining 8.3%, 3.0% - to Armenia, 2.3% to the EU countries (Poland, the Netherlands, Germany), 1.9% to the United Arab Emirates and 1.1% to other countries," - the study said.
