Georgia has been ranked seventh among the top 10 countries in the world with the highest percentage decrease in unemployment over the last 12 years in the World Economic Review by the International Monetary Fund.
The IMF estimated unemployment in Georgia would decrease by 12.2 percentage points compared to 2012, and by 2024, the unemployment level would be equal to 14.5%.
According to the IMF, the unemployment rate in Georgia was the highest in 2010, 2011 and 2012, at the level of about 27%.
It is worth noting that according to the report of the International Monetary Fund, unemployment had increased in Georgia by the highest percentage point in the world in the period up to 2012. The increase in unemployment in that 12-year period exceeded 16 percentage points.
