
"In the 2022/23 seasonal year, Georgia ranks 6th among global nut producers,” – the report of the International Nut & Dried Fruit Council (INC) says.
The country produced 14,800 tons of nut kernels in the 2022/23 seasonal year. Georgia's share in the global production is 3%.
As for the neighboring countries, Azerbaijan ranks 4th with 24,000 tons (4%), and Turkey is still the leader of the season. The country produced 415,300 tons of nut kernels. Turkey's share in the global production is 71%.
The 2022/23 ranking of the leading nut kernel producing countries is as follows:

Italy - 38,700 tons (7%)
The USA - 31,900 tons (5%)
Azerbaijan - 24,000 tons (4%)

According to the average output of nut kernels in the last 5 years, Georgia ranks fifth with 16,930 tons, and its share in the global production of this period is 3%.

According to INC, the global harvest of nut kernels in 2022/23 was 585,150 tons, the highest figure in the last decade. For example, the global harvest for the 2021/22 seasonal year was 552,076 tons, and for 2020/21 it was 507,600 tons.
