According to the data of 11 months of the current year, Georgia-Mexico trade turnover has almost doubled. According to official statistics, trade relations between the countries this year have reached $ 11.5 million, which is 75.3% higher than the annual turnover of the same period last year.
It should be noted that the export and import with Mexico was at the highest level in 2016 ($13.8 million) and 2017 ($14.6 million). During the next 4 years, it varied from $3 to $6.5 million.
Despite the fact that exports have a small share in trade turnover, compared to the same period of last year, the revenue from goods sold in Mexico in January-November is 3 times higher than the one in the same period of last year and amounts to $3.7 million. It should also be noted here that exports in trade with Mexico reached the highest level in 2016 and 2017 ($11.7 million).
According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in 2016-2017, when the trade with Mexico was the most active, the main export goods from Georgia to this country were ferroalloys, and then nuts and other nuts - in a small volume.
Imports occupy the main place in the trade turnover with Mexico. This year, $ 7.7 million were spent in this direction for the purchase of goods, which is 48.5% higher than last year's figure. The largest imported commodity is sugar.
