Within the panel session of the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum - Policy-driven decisions, Giorgi Tsikolia, the regional director of the US-based tech company Lineate, spoke about the attractiveness of the Georgian market and the prospects for the development of information technologies in the country.
"If you look at the global companies, they have entered the market in the last few years. This shows that the market is more mature and global companies also want to enter this market. When we decided to expand our organization in Europe and set up various offices, we also carried out appropriate analytical processes and discovered Georgia, which is the leading economy among the countries of Eastern Europe. Of course, we evaluated the countries according to various issues, and especially we looked at the trends in our industry," - Tsikolia said.
According to Tsikolia, this is why the company decided to create a regional office in Georgia and has been investing in the local economy for the last 18 months.
"We want to fully distribute our experience and knowledge to this value chain, develop local talents, we work with universities, and as a result, many tech companies will develop more in this sector. The export of services related to IT technologies in Georgia is already worth a billion US dollars. This industry occupies an honorable place next to logistics and tourism", - the Regional Director of Lineate said.
