"The representatives from the European and Central Asian countries of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) began meetings in Tbilisi, Georgia, to discuss the global trends in the postal sector," - the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia reports.
Eka Kubusidze, Head of the Communications and Modern Technologies Department of the Economy Ministry, and Levan Chikvaidze, Director General of Georgian Post, are participating alongside regional postal sector representatives. The discussions focus on innovations, challenges, and knowledge-sharing in the industry.
Kubusidze highlighted the postal sector's continued importance in connecting people, despite the rise of digital technologies, especially with the growing demand for e-commerce services.
The three-day event, part of the UPU Regional Development Plan 2022-2025, is attended by around 30 regional postal representatives. Georgia has been a UPU member since 1993, supporting sustainable and innovative postal services.
