
"Georgia hosted 3,021,067 international travelers in the first and second quarters of the year, marking a 5.6 percent increase over the same period of the previous year," the National Tourism Administration said.
The number of foreign tourist visits amounted to 2,123,816 between January and June, marking a 10 percent increase compared to 2023, the body noted.
It also said 1,720,516 international travelers had arrived by the second quarter of 2024, exceeding 2023 figures by 4.2 percent.
Maia Omiadze, the Head of the Administration, said the summer season would be “successful”.
"Georgia has a six percent increase compared to the first two quarters of 2023 and expectations are great for this season. The Administration keeps working on the [tourism] marketing campaigns for target markets of Europe and the Persian Gulf countries. We also have new relations with India. Totally, by the end of the third quarter and the end of the summer, we will have a very good tourist season”, Omiadze said.
The number of arrivals of international travelers between April and June amounted 1,185,172, marking a 9.2 percent increase compared to the figures of the same period of previous year.
