
President Mikheil Kavelashvili of Georgia has awarded national honors to the country's judo team, their coaches, and Judo Federation leaders for their World Championship victory. The recognition, initiated by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, includes Orders and Medals of Honor.
In addition, the Prime Minister announced a 1 million GEL reward for the team’s historic achievement. “For the first time, Georgia holds both world and European titles in the mixed team competition,” he noted, emphasizing plans to build nationwide sports centers, with a special focus on judo.
World champion Eter Liparteliani received the prestigious Order of Queen Tamar for her outstanding contribution.
