
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili participated in the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and Connectivity Investment Forum, held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The event was co-organised by the European Union under the Global Gateway initiative.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the forum aims to strengthen cooperation between the EU and partner countries along the Trans-Caspian Corridor, supporting improved transport links between Europe and Asia.
The forum was opened by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, Minister of Transport Ilhom Mahkamov, European Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Síkela, and European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
As part of the programme, Kvrivishvili will join a panel discussion to present Georgia’s vision and plans for contributing to the corridor’s development and for building stronger transport connections between the region and the European Union.
She will also attend a meeting of Transport Ministers from the EU, Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and the Black Sea region, held within the framework of the forum.
The Georgian delegation includes Deputy Ministers Tamar Ioseliani and Gennadi Arveladze.
