As Silvio Domente, the head of the Georgian representation of the World Health Organization, stated, Georgia has established good supervision over the monkeypox disease.
"As you know, only one case has been reported in Georgia so far. Georgia has a good supervision system and this is what the World Health Organization calls on member states too, to strengthen supervision of the spread of this disease. Recommendations are made for state actors on how to conduct supervision, how to detect disease, and then how health workers should respond to prevent disease. Here, balance is necessary for the implementation of these measures, and then for the issues of treatment and prevention. We are ready to give further instructions, conduct training to bring this disease under control," - Silvio Domente said.
