Medea Janiashvili, the Acting Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, stated that the country had shown quite positive indicators in terms of tourism. According to her, “Georgia has already succeeded and regained its pre-pandemic level - 80% of the international visitors.”
"We have positive results in July. It is especially noteworthy that the share of tourist visits in the total volume has increased significantly. For example, compared to the same period of 2019, the share of international visitors has recovered by 67%, while tourist visits - by 80%, which is directly related to attracting high-spending visitors to the country. It is particularly gratifying to note that there is also an increase from certain target countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, Israel; that gives us great optimism to further increase the number of visitors and bring even more income to our country from tourism. As for Europe, European countries are one of our most important target markets. Poland and Germany are especially active", - Medea Janiashvili explained.
