The Georgian Agriculture Minister Otar Shamugia on Saturday said wine export from Georgia was increasing every year, noting the country had exported about 103 million litres of wine in 2022 and this year the figure was expected to increase.
As Shamugia stated, the channel that the wine sector was actively supported by the state, as a result of which Georgian winemakers had received income of around GEL300 million ($111,5 mln) during the harvest season.
,,Overall, the country earned $450 million in export revenue from both wine and spirits exports last year. All this is the result of [the Government’s] support and joint work”, the Minister emphazised.
With the state’s support about 2,500 small wineries and enterprises have been producing wine in Georgia and selling it both inside and outside the country," - Shamugia noted.
