"According to the latest data, the price of raw hazelnuts is 3 GEL, which means that the price of dry hazelnuts is 4 GEL. As for the quality, the process should be in an active phase to fully evaluate this, which will happen in just a few days. However, according to preliminary estimates, the quality is much better than last year. This also determines the price. In the same period last year, 1 kg of raw hazelnuts cost 1.5-2 GEL," said Todua.
As Toduasaid, the creation of the hazelnut cadastre by the government and the subsidy program allowed the farmers to fully implement the medicinal process.
To be reminded, in the 2022/23 seasonal year, Georgia ranks 6th among the global hazelnut producers.
