In the first 4 months of this year, the export of nitrogen fertilizers from Georgia increased by 251.2%. As a result, the country received $ 128.3 million from the sale of these goods.
Nitrogen fertilizers are among the 10 largest export goods of the country with an 8.1% share exceeding the export volumes of wine and mineral waters.
According to the official statistics, a total of 192,541 tons of nitrogen fertilizers were sold in foreign countries in January-April this year, which is 4.8% less than the volume of exports carried out in the same period last year. It can be said that the value of goods in the international market has increased significantly today comparing the value of exports and volumes.
As for the export markets, according to the Geostat External Trade Portal, nitrogen fertilizers were no longer exported to Ukraine after the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, although Ukraine was still included in the list of the top three largest commodity exports carried out in January-February. It is noteworthy that the Russia-Ukraine war also changed export directions, leaving African countries at the top of the list.
