The Government of Georgia has issued a decree designating January 3, 6, and 8–10, 2025, as public holidays for employees of administrative bodies as defined by the General Administrative Code. The decree was signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
Under the decree, administrative bodies retain the authority to exempt certain employees or services from this provision if their roles are deemed essential for the exercise of state authority or the continuous operation of societal functions.
The decree explicitly excludes its applicability to financial obligations owed to entities under the supervision of the National Bank of Georgia. Furthermore, activities related to state procurement, as regulated by the Law of Georgia on State Procurement, are also exempt from the holiday provisions.
