On October 27, National Teacher’s Day, Georgia’s Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, honoured the ten winners of the 2025 National Teacher’s Award. President Mikheil Kavelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili also congratulated educators on their dedication and service.

Mikanadze praised teachers as the cornerstone of the nation’s future, highlighting his own background in education and lifelong connection to teaching. Each award recipient received a GEL 10,000 prize for their outstanding contribution to the education system and community.

National Teacher’s Day, celebrated on the birthday of educator Iakob Gogebashvili, recognises the vital role of teachers across Georgia. This year, a new initiative also honoured five outstanding teachers in every municipality nationwide.
