
The Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili, said “in the process of connecting the countries of the region with the European Union, the role of Georgia as a transit connector is increasing, and our country can be the leader of this process, because Georgia has trust among the countries of the region and unconditional advantages that have been formed historically.”
"The progress that the country has in terms of reforms in energy, transport and other directions was also noted and positively assessed", - said Levan Davitashvili after the meetings held with the European Commissioners in Brussels.
As the Minister noted, during the year, the Georgian government under the leadership of the Prime Minister carried out very important work to ensure that the Central Asian states, Azerbaijan and the countries of the region in general were closely connected with the European Union through Georgia.
To be reminded, the Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili, is paying an official visit to Brussels, where he is holding high-level meetings in the European Commission. The main topics of discussion are the relations between Georgia and the European Union, fulfillment of the obligations defined by the Association Agreement and other priority areas of cooperation.
