Georgia buys 99% of buckwheat from Russia

The purchase of buckwheat has become significantly more expensive for Georgia. In January-June 2022, the country bought 3 million 96 thousand 640 dollars worth of 2981 tons of buckwheat, while in the same period of 2021 - 2 million 891 thousand 180 dollars worth of 3194 tons of buckwheat.
According to statistical data, the country bought 6.6% less buckwheat in the first half of 2022, although it had to pay much more.
Georgia buys 99% of buckwheat from Russia, and the remaining minimum amount from Poland, Germany and Italy.
