Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that Georgia has officially submitted its nominee for the next ambassador to the United States and is now waiting for an official response from Washington.

"The candidate for ambassador was sent to the U.S. about two weeks ago. We hope to receive confirmation soon," Kobakhidze said in an interview with Rustavi 2.

He noted that the approval process typically takes anywhere from two weeks to two months but expressed hope for a quicker decision.

"We hope this process won’t be delayed, and once we receive confirmation, the identity of our new ambassador will be revealed," he added.
