With the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia, the wines of 16 Georgian wine producers, both large companies and small wineries, were presented at the international festival Daejeon International Wine Festival in the city of Daejeon, the Republic of Korea.
As the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia reported, Georgia participated in the festival as an honored guest this year. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Korea, Tarash Papaskua, attended the festival.
Presentation of Georgian wine at large-scale events of this type serves to diversify export markets of Georgian wine. Within the framework of the three-day exhibition, Georgian wine producers had the opportunity to present their products to local wine professionals, which is one of the prerequisites for increasing interest towards Georgian wine and subsequent sales growth.
According to the assessment of Georgian wine producers participating in the exhibition, the South Korean market, along with China and Japan, is a promising market for the Georgian wine.
The first presentation of the Georgian wine in the Republic of Korea took place in 2015 at the exhibition Seoul International Wines & Spirits Expo.
