Georgian Deputy Economy Minister Irakli Nadareishvili and Uzbek counterpart Shahrukh Daliev have signed an action plan to foster collaboration in developing the startup ecosystem. The signing took place during the Georgian Economy Ministry's delegation visit to Uzbekistan.
The agreement focuses on promoting innovative and technological education, joint educational initiatives, and institutional partnerships between the two nations.
Nadareishvili highlighted that Georgia began developing its innovative ecosystem about ten years ago and has seen remarkable progress, including a shift in the country’s export structure, with IT service exports growing from nearly zero to $900 million. Additionally, around 150 international companies have started operations in Georgia in recent years, and the IT sector now employs over 10,000 people.
The two parties also agreed to collaborate on joint projects at the Kutaisi Technology Hub.
