
Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, hosted Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov, during his first official visit to Georgia, the ministry reported.
Mikanadze thanked Uzbekistan for its support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and emphasized the value of strong intergovernmental cooperation in deepening bilateral ties.
The two officials discussed current partnerships in education and science and explored opportunities for further collaboration. Special focus was placed on the Rectors’ Educational Forum, a joint initiative aimed at boosting cooperation between Georgian and Uzbek universities through the exchange of best practices.
They also agreed to organize joint youth camps, designed to foster active engagement, support students’ physical and intellectual development, and promote healthy lifestyles.
Mikanadze confirmed Uzbekistan’s willingness to expand collaboration across all levels of Georgia’s education system.
