
Lieutenant General Giorgi Matiashvili, Head of Georgia’s Defence Forces, met with a delegation from the Georgia Army National Guard, led by Major General Richard Wilson, to discuss strengthening military cooperation between Georgia and the United States.
According to the Georgian Defence Ministry, the meeting focused on expanding collaboration through the State Partnership Program and joint participation in multinational military exercises involving Georgian and U.S. troops.
The visit by the U.S. Georgia National Guard delegation coincides with the 30th anniversary of its partnership with Georgia’s National Guard. During their stay in Tbilisi, the delegation visited local National Guard units and participated in related events.
A farewell ceremony was also held to honor Defence Attaché Colonel Joseph Bilbos and Lieutenant Colonel Erol Munir for their service.
