"Georgia and Spain have officially implemented a new agreement allowing for mutual recognition and exchange of national driving licences between the two countries," - Georgia’s Interior Ministry reported.
The deal, which has now come into force, enables residents holding valid driving licences from either country to exchange them for an equivalent permit in the other without the need for taking practical or theoretical exams.
The agreement is the latest in a series of similar accords Georgia has signed with European nations, the Ministry noted, adding Tbilisi had already finalized such agreements with Ireland - with the deal already in force - and with Greece, where the process is pending the completion of internal formalities.
