The governments of Georgia and Slovakia signed a new economic cooperation agreement within the framework of the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, marking a step forward in strengthening bilateral relations.
The agreement was signed by Genady Arveladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and Vladimír Šimoňák, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic.
Under the agreement, both parties committed to enhancing economic, technical, and technological cooperation, including the organisation of joint initiatives and activities for business communities.
A key provision of the agreement is the establishment of a Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation, which will serve as a platform for addressing major economic issues between the two countries.
During their meeting, Arveladze and Šimoňák reviewed current bilateral economic trends and underscored the importance of launching direct flights between Georgia and Slovakia to further boost collaboration in the tourism sector.
The officials also discussed the possibility of holding the first meeting of the Economic Cooperation Commission early next year to further outline joint priorities and projects.
