Marina Ragus, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Serbian Parliament, hosted the delegation of the Georgian Parliament on Monday deeming the meeting “very important.”
She said the parties had agreed “on so many things, and the main goal is to uplift our bilateral relationship between Georgia and Serbia.”
“We have common ground as we follow the United Nations Charter, including territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independent policy. We have great potential for cooperation, especially in the foreign affairs space. In many ways, we support each other at different international levels. We want to thank Georgia once again for not recognizing the self-declared independence of Kosovo.
We would also like to express our gratitude to Georgia for supporting us during the United Nations session regarding the resolution on Srebrenica and for the many instances of cooperation in several important international forums and organizations. This is the first step within this mandate, and I believe the rest will follow, not only within the Foreign Affairs Committee but also within several other committees, especially those that deal with digitization, innovation, and the creative industry, such as our Committee for Economy, among others.
So, the main goal of this meeting is to start the process of uplifting our bilateral relationship for this mandate, and parliamentary diplomacy is the keystone of this mandate,” Marina Ragus added.
