100 days are left prior to one of the most important sports events - Georgia and Romania will host the UEFA European Under-21 Football Teams Championship from June 21.
Like Tbilisi and Kutaisi, Batumi will participate in the tournament, however, due to the tragedy, the event dedicated to the under-21 championship in the capital of Adjara was cancelled.
As the Tbilisi City Hall reported, the ceremonial events were held and countdown clocks had already started. The Mayor of the capital Kakha Kaladze opened the event in Tbilisi and addressed the gathered public.
The President of the Georgian Football Federation Levan Kobiashvili, veteran and young players and representatives of the championship's partner companies participated in the event.
The UEFA European Under-21 Football Teams Championship will be held from June 21 to July 8. The Georgian youth national team will play at the championship for the first time and will face the national teams of Portugal, the Netherlands and Belgium in group A. All games of the group stage of the Georgian U-21 national team will be held at Dinamo Arena.
