
Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songhulashvili met with Hadas Meitzad, the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Georgia, to discuss ongoing initiatives and explore avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation in agriculture.
Minister Songhulashvili expressed appreciation for the longstanding partnership with Israel, underlining the importance of historic ties and the value of modern agricultural expertise. He commended the successful projects led by MASHAV—the Israel Agency for International Development Cooperation—in Georgia.
Key areas of discussion included the introduction of advanced agricultural technologies, expert knowledge-sharing, enhanced trade relations, development of laboratory infrastructure, and expanded cooperation in agrometeorology. The Minister also noted the strong potential for increasing exports of Georgian agri-food products to the Israeli market.
Ambassador Meitzad reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to supporting Georgia’s agricultural development, calling Georgia a friendly and important partner in the region.
