
Georgia has reached an unprecedented milestone in tourism, according to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. Between January and June 2025, the country welcomed a record-breaking 2.3 million international tourist visits—the highest figure ever recorded in the nation's history.
In total, international traveller visits reached 3.2 million during this six-month period, marking a 4.4% increase compared to the same timeframe in 2024. The number of international visitors rose by 4.6%, while international tourist visits surged by 6.9%.
The second quarter of 2025 alone set new records, with 1.3 million international visits—a historic quarterly high. Compared to Q2 2024, there was a 6.9% rise in international travellers, a 7% increase in international visitors, and an impressive 10.7% growth in international tourist arrivals.
A significant contributor to this growth was increased travel from European Union countries, including the United Kingdom. From January to June 2025, a total of 201,986 visits came from EU nations—a 10.2% rise year-over-year. Notable country-specific increases include:

In Q2 2025 alone, there were 32,750 visits from the Persian Gulf—an increase of 17% (+4,752 visits) compared to the same period last year. Among these:

Oman: +49.8% (+542 visits)

However, travel from Kuwait declined by 12.3%, with 763 fewer visits.
These numbers underscore Georgia’s growing appeal as a global tourist destination, particularly among European and Gulf country travellers.
