According to the International Monetary Fund forecast, the growth of the gross domestic product of Georgia in 2022 will be 9%, and the growth forecast for 2023 is 4%. This is stated in the latest report published by the International Monetary Fund, which includes forecast indicators of the global economic growth.
As the representatives of the International Monetary Fund stated at the press conference, the global economic growth forecasts have decreased, and the reason for this was the current war in Ukraine, the increase in the prices of energy resources and food products, as well as the increase in interest rates set by the national banks.
According to the International Monetary Fund forecast, the growth rate of the global economy will be unchanged at 3.2% in 2022, while the global economy growth will be 2.7% in 2023, which is 0.2% less than the forecast published by the Fund in July.
The bank also states that there is a 25% probability that the global economy growth in 2023 will be even less than 2%. The International Monetary Fund classifies the global economy as fragile adding that the financial markets are showing stress index.
