The honorary chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, congratulated the nation on Georgian Paralympic athlete Giga Ochkhikidze’s success at Summer Paralympic Games in Paris.

“No one doubted that the Paralympic athletes would continue the successful performance of the Georgian Olympians,” he noted.

Giga Ochkhikidze, a Georgian paralympic athlete, won a gold medal in Men’s shot put F53 in Paris.

Ochkhikidze also set a world record by putting the shot 9.66 meters.

The Georgian Paralympic team now has two medals. Earlier, Ana Japaridze won the bronze in taekwondo.
