Gas extraction increased, oil – decreased in Georgia

According to the data published by the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, the production of oil in Georgia has decreased, while the production of natural gas has increased.
The data say 35.3 thousand tons of oil were extracted in the country in 2023, which is 9.73% less than the 2022 figure.
The highest rate of oil extraction (57.6 thousand tons) was seen in 2009, and the lowest rate (28.2 thousand tons) - in 2017.
16.6 million cubic meters of gas was produced in the country in 2023, which is 18.57% more than the data of 2022. The best rate of commercial gas extraction was in 2023, and the worst - in 2012-2013 (5.4 million cubic meters).
