It should be noted that Georgia is an importer of sunflower oil. In the first quarter of 2023, products worth $8.5 million were imported to the country, which is almost double the figure compared to $ 3.8 million in the same period of the previous year.
However, in January-March of this year, Georgia's top trading partner by sunflower oil import has not been Ukraine, but Russia, from where the product worth 7.8 million US dollars entered the country. Ukraine ranked 2nd, although its share is significantly lower and amounts to 429.8 million US dollars.
In 2022, a total of sunflower oil worth $47.7 million was imported into Georgia. The main importer was Russia with the largest share of 41.4 million US dollars. Russia is followed by Azerbaijan (3.7 million USD) and Ukraine (1.2 million USD).
