Kuwaiti low-budget airline Jazeera Airways starts operating from El-Kuwait to Batumi from June 14.
“Following Tbilisi, Batumi will be the second destination in Georgia, where Jazeera Airways will fly 7 times a week during the summer tourist season. The successful conclusion of the negotiations with the airline officials led to the fact that Georgia is one of the priority destinations for the Persian Gulf countries,” - Irakli Karkashadze, the Director General of the United Airports of Georgia, said.
"Jazeera Airways started operating in the Georgian air market in 2018 at the Tbilisi International Airport. After the two-year negotiations with the airline were successfully completed by the Association of Georgian Airports. We are constantly communicating and cooperating with the airlines officials to offer more destinations and more frequencies to our passengers. As a result, from June 14 to September 16, the airline will make daily flights on the El-Kuwaiti-Batumi-El-Kuwaiti route," said Irakli Karkashadze.
The interest of the Gulf countries towards Georgia is growing. 77,392 passengers visited Georgia from Kuwait in 2023. Last year, a total of 1,094,695 passengers arrived in Georgia from the Persian Gulf countries.
