From January 15, reference prices on medicines to be set in Georgia

From January 15, 2023, reference prices for drugs will be set in Georgia. According to the law, the government of Georgia is scheduled to set the maximum price limit for medicines, above which their sale will not be allowed, which is a widespread practice in the world.
In the first stage, reference prices will be set for drugs for chronic diseases, and gradually the mechanism of price regulation will be extended to other groups of drugs as well.
According to Tamar Gabunia, the Deputy Minister of Health of Georgia, a certain transition period will initially apply.
