The French Embassy has issued a travel advisory urging its citizens to review potential risks that could lead to being denied entry to Georgia, including prior participation in demonstrations or activity on social media related to Georgian affairs.
"Entry to Georgian territory may be prohibited even for holders of valid Georgian residence permits," the embassy stated. "We ask travellers to check before travelling the factors that create a risk of being denied entry to Georgian territory, including participation in demonstrations in Georgia or activity on social media."
The advisory also noted that re-entry could be made conditional upon the immediate payment of significant fines for alleged involvement in such protests.
This warning follows a similar advisory recently issued by the Polish Embassy in Georgia, reflecting growing concerns among European diplomatic missions over entry restrictions linked to political expression.
